The Hybrid School was founded by a woman/mother whose child attended the same schools our children now attend, but in 5th grade realized that she could provide a better learning environment for her child at home. So she homeschooled her children, who have since graduated. She subsequently formed the hybrid school based on two books: The Well-Trained Mind by Susan Wise Bauer and A Thomas Jefferson Education by Oliver DeMille.
So I decided to purchase these books to I can familiarize myself with the philosophy prior to making a commitment Additionally, since I anticipate there will be useful components of these books, we can begin incorporating elements of the curriculum into our Taylored Curriculum.
Additionally, I went online and subscribed to Practical Homeschooling Magazine. I anxiously await my first issue.
Our applications for the Hybrid school were submitted on 2/26. Our family interview is Thursday.
